your kitten in the grooming salon

A clever investment for your kitten ánd for yourself!

If you're considering a kitten...

Start as early as possible (preferably before 12 weeks of age, since they learn new things quickest at this age) with getting your kitten accustomed to bathing, brushing, and general handling such as checking ears, examining teeth, gently extending the claws, etc.

The earlier your kitten gets used to this, the easier it will be in the future to care for your cat's coat in a stress-free and pleasant manner. Additionally, your kitten and you will also benefit greatly from this during vet visits.

An important aspect is getting your kitten accustomed to the pet carrier. Leave the carrier in your cat's living environment so that it becomes familiar. Place a blanket inside and leave the door open - this way, the carrier becomes a cozy sleeping spot, and your kitten won't develop negative associations with it.

Also remember: a kitten that is used to being groomed will be much more cooperative in getting groomed regularly as an adult, potentially preventing serious coat issues like mats and tangles.

Especially for kittens, I offer the Mister Jinks 'Junior' package. By regularly visiting the grooming salon with your kitten, I help them getting used to handling, brushing, and potentially trimming their nails if needed. But most importantly, I help them get accustomed to the sounds of the grooming salon - think of the clippers! This way, future visits to the grooming salon and the vet will be much less stressful for your cat and for you! Additionally, you'll receive tips & tricks to properly care for your kitten's coat at home.

Mister Jinks 'Junior' can be booked for kittens up to 12 months old. After the first grooming session, you'll receive the 'Mijn Eerste Trimbeurt' card as a gift.
